Hyundai Card, a South Korean bank card company, has received approval from financial regulators to launch Apple Pay mobile payment service in South Korea in partnership with Apple.

According to a report by foreign tech media 9to5Mac, a deep dive into the iOS 16.4 Beta 2 (internal development version 20E5223e) update released today has once again revealed clues in the code.

The keyword “CONTINUE_SOUTH_KOREA” was found in the Apple Wallet app, indicating that Apple will soon launch Apple Pay in South Korea.

We look forward to working with Apple to bring Apple Pay to Korea,” a Hyundai Card spokesperson said in a statement. Apple said “we look forward to bringing Apple Pay to Korea,” but added that details would be announced at a later date.
