For months, we have been getting a series of concept designs for the Huawei Mate 50 and a new leak confirms these concepts. A Weibo tech blogger and tipster WHYLAB took to his page to share an image of one of the coming Huawei flagship devices. The device in WHYLAB’s picture is in a lunchbox case for professional reasons.

This said case helps those who get the opportunity to test these devices before launch to protect certain details about the device. According to WHYLAB the device he put up on his Weibo account is likely the Huawei Mate 50. From the image, we can not tell much about the design of this device, but on a closer look, we can see a bit of the layout of sensors on the camera cutout.

Just like with the concept images, this Huawei device in the lunchbox case has its flash on the top centre side of the camera cutout. We can also identify about four sensors on this device. As we already know, this device along with the other devices in the Mate 50 series won’t use the Leica camera branding. Instead, they will use Huawei’s in-house XMAGE which the company says will bring advancements to the camera on all devices in this series.

This device will launch on September 6 and will run HarmonyOS 3 out of the box. For their processors, we know that they will all use 4G enabled SoCs, possibly a 5G case will launch afterwards to bring faster connectivity to these devices. More details on this device will be available during its launch event.
