HarmonyOS 3 brings new features to its device ecosystem

The Huawei Summer 2022 Smart Office launch event saw the release of HarmonyOS 3, this upgrade brings a lot of improvements to the ecosystem.

HarmonyOS 3 is now available for devices within Huawei’s ever-growing ecosystem. This update brings better interconnectivity between devices. It also steps up on customizations and security. 

As more partners come into Huawei’s ecosystem, there is a need for better collaboration. The new Hyperterminal interface with this update now allows users to connect with more than one device when necessary. Switching the connection is also receiving improvements with HarmonyOS 3.

The efficiency of this operating system is now even better, as it includes more use cases for collaboration. According to Huawei, network connection now gets some improvement as well. You can as well answer calls from your Huawei device on any super device. Both tablets, phones, and laptops can exist under the same network coverage.

Customizations and security on HarmonyOS 3

For customization, the update to HarmonyOS brings adjustments to widgets or “cards” as the company calls them. You can now organize them in a way that suits your preference. 

The desktop layout is also new and users can customize it as they deem necessary. With the upgrade, users get an AI face pinching algorithm. This uses the face of users to create avatars that will exist across the device. These avatars can also be used as emojis or GIFs while in a chat conversation.

Paring more than one Huawei wireless headset to a Huawei device is now possible. 

Huawei steps up security on their operating system new update. There is now a security system which can help detect and eliminate viruses if there are any on the device. The application control centre also identified and bans untrusted applications that might gain access to the device.

These are just some of the new features that come with the HarmonyOS 3 update. The rollout for this update has commenced, as some users are already testing the Beta. It will roll out to already existing devices in the coming weeks.
