A communication shell for Huawei has been in work for quite some time now, finally, it is available for purchase. This shell is specifically for the Huawei P50 Pro, it helps the 4G enabled device to access the 5G network. But why the shell, and how does it work?
As we all know, Huawei has received a series of sanctions from the US government, which claims that the Chinese tech giant is a “security threat.” These sanctions prevent Huawei from accessing necessary equipment to enable their devices to access the 5G network. In a way, Huawei mobile is stuck on 4G, despite it being a leader in 5G technologies.
All the sanctions and restrictions from the US government have not deter Huawei from innovating new technology. Now, the company has provisions for the P50 Pro to access the 5G network with the help of a communication shell. Soyealink is the producer of this communication shell and this is its first product of this nature.
This 5G shell comes in for of a case which connects to the P50 Pro via a USB-C connector. It embeds an eSIM chip and a 5G modem into the case. Once it is on the P50 Pro it activates the eSIM service of one main card service provider hence enabling a 5G network. This technology is a marvel, and it also helps users access faster connections on their Huawei P50 Pro.
Soyealink’s case is thick because it comes with a 5G modem and an eSIM chip. It measures over 3.2mm in thickness and weighs about 52g. Once put on the P50 Pro, the total thickness will measure around 11.7mm (8.5mm + 3.2mm).
Despite its thickness, this case is surely workable for the sake of faster 5G connections. Another possible drawback is that the case will use power from the P50 Pro, hence reducing its battery time. Huawei hasn’t made any announcement regarding this case, but it could do so in the month of June. This case will retail at 799 yuan from Soyealink.
