August 18 – Apple today pushed the iOS 15.6.1 / iPadOS 15.6.1 update (internal version number: 19G82) to iPhone and iPad users, 28 days after the last release.

It should be noted that due to the server configuration caching problems of Apple’s regional nodes, there may be a slight delay in detecting the upgrade update in some places, generally within half an hour, not too long.

The official changelog is as follows.

"This update provides an important security update and is recommended for all users to install.

The iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1 updates are available as a free download and the software is available as an OTA on all eligible devices through the Settings app. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

The update includes bug fixes and security improvements, according to Apple’s release notes. iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1 address kernel and WebKit vulnerabilities that could lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple says these vulnerabilities may have been actively exploited, so it is important to update immediately.

These could be some of the final updates for the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 operating systems as Apple now focuses on the iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 updates that will be available this fall.
