CD Projekt has confirmed that it plans to launch a complete version of “Cyberpunk 2077”. Previously, news appeared online that “Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition” has passed the PEGI rating of the European Grading Committee.

The company was asked during Thursday’s investor Q&A session if it had plans to launch a “Game of the Year Edition.” CD Projekt’s chief commercial officer Michał Nowakowski said: “As for the new edition, the collector’s edition, we don’t know the specific name yet, but We will let everyone know when the time comes.”

Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December 2020, and last month CD Projekt launched the game’s only DLC, Shadows of the Past.

Regarding the special edition, Nowakowski said it won’t necessarily follow a similar path they took with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The Witcher 3 was released in May 2015, followed by a Game of the Year Edition in August 2016, which included the base game, two expansion packs, and additional DLC.

Nowakowski said: “Well, with The Witcher 3, we spent some time doing this, but we didn’t want to compare it because maybe we would take a new approach, a different approach than The Witcher. In our You don’t have to compare it to The Witcher until the full version is released. We do have some ideas, but it’s not the time to discuss them yet.”

During an investor presentation on Thursday, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiciński said that Cyberpunk 2077 has now sold more than 25 million copies, meaning it sold out “much faster than The Witcher 3” after its release. ”, which has sold more than 50 million copies in total. The company also said that “Shadows of the Past” sold more than 3 million units in its first week.

It is noticed that “Cyberpunk 2077” game director Gabe Amatangelo recently stated that the studio has no plans to make more major updates for the game because they are shifting their attention to other projects, including the game’s The sequel, “Project Orion,” is now in development at CD Projekt’s North American studio.

CD Projekt also said Thursday that it is currently developing a live-action project based on Cyberpunk 2077, seemingly hinting at plans for further collaboration with Cyberpunk Edgerunners animation studio Trigger.

According to one of the sources, the Ultimate Edition will be released on December 31, 2023 (Reddit users believe it’s a placeholder) on PC, PS5, and Xbox series X|S platforms.

According to previous reports, Cyberpunk 2077’s DLC “Shadows of the Past” will be CDPR’s last major update, so it’s only logical that after the DLC’s official release, the game will get a “Definitive Edition” with all of its expansions. It’s only natural that the game will bring the “Ultimate Edition” with all the expansions after the DLC is officially released.

SteamDB know, at present Steam national area “cyberpunk 2077” game body for 298 yuan, DLC “shadow of the past day” price for 149 yuan, the final price of the ultimate edition should be lower than the total price (447 yuan) after the separate purchase.

But at the same time, “Starfield” promoted by Bethesda and Microsoft has received mixed reviews from players due to game content, optimization and other issues.

Recently, a game blogger on the X platform raised objections to the NPC design of “Starfield”. It is reported that the player believes that the NPC animation design of “Starfield” is not only outdated compared with “Cyberpunk 2077”, but also lacks body language, and claims that Bethesda should abandon the current engine.

This comment caught the attention of CD Projekt Red’s senior quest designer Patrick K. Mills, who refuted the blogger’s point of view, saying:

  • While Cyberpunk 2077 has some scenes that are choreographed in a more refined way, Starfield has many more grand and varied scenes involving many different characters and locations.
  • Different games have different game experiences. B Company prioritizes players’ freedom of exploration, thus providing a game experience that belongs to B Company. Although players may hope that “Starfield” has more “movie-like” style scenes, In order to implement such content, there is also an additional price to pay.

It should be noted that this is not the first time Mills has defended “Star Sky”. Last month that when a game blogger compared details such as the water surface material of “Star Sky” with “Cyberpunk 2077” to emphasize that When B’s work “lacks the detail and realism of CD Projekt Red’s work,” Mills countered that “the comparison is ‘false and harmful’.”

Foreign media PC Gamer published an interview with Gabe Amatangelo, director of “Cyberpunk 2077”, on Friday.

When asked about the studio abandoning the RED engine in favour of Unreal 5, Gabe Amatangelo responded that the move was the right “strategic shift” for future games.

CDPR announced last year that the next “Witcher” series game and the “Cyberpunk” series sequel code-named “Orion” will be developed using Unreal 5. At the same time, the RED engine that has been used since “The Witcher 2” in 2011 will also be developed. complete its historical mission.

In addition, whether the various cutting-edge technologies that are constantly added to “2077” (such as NVIDIA path ray tracing, etc.) will disappear with the transition to Unreal 5 is also a topic of concern to many players. Gabe Amatangelo responded, “This is not starting from scratch. Many times various technologies can be applied to new engines. When you see what Unreal 5 and the RED engine do well, you will find that there are some similarities between them. There are some gaps. But a good engineer will say, I know all the things you creative geeks want to do in the future.”

At the same time, he also added that applying what he learned while developing “2077” to a new game using the Unreal Engine 5, rather than having to “rebuild” his own engine for the next game, would be “refreshing” at a higher level.

ICDPR officials recently announced that they will launch a version 2.01 update in the near future, including a series of fixes and optimizations.

IGN 9 Points

Shadows of the Past has a firmer grasp on what kind of story the City of Night can tell, and while last year's Cyberpunk: Fringe Walker indicated that CDPR already had a blueprint in mind for the future of Cyberpunk 2077, Shadows of the Past is even more indicative of that.

It's a more complex story and a better show, with deep insights into cyberpunk and anti-utopian themes, simulating the despair of the world and the dehumanizing effects of technology on our souls.

The new 2.0 update improves the experience considerably, and it's safe to say that with the Shadows of the Past DLC, Cyberpunk 2077 marks the beginning of a new chapter in the game, and it's finally becoming what I expected it to be when I first encountered it three years ago.

GameSpot 10 Point

Nocturne's appeal lies in its impressive scope and eye-popping visuals, which depict a bleak neon future developed and unfettered by technology.

Shadows of the Past showcases the full potential of Cyberpunk 2077, telling a brand new story of misplaced loyalties, reckoning with your past and its consequences, and navigating a technologically driven anti-utopia.

There are also marvelous, distinct routes and endings to this compelling main storyline, with excellent performances that allow new and old characters to be at the center of it, and a new ending for the foundation that reinterprets the original story.

Phantom Freedom makes full use of Dogtown, deftly embedding much of the main story and side quests in its streets, with a compelling variety of decisions and a wealth of detail bringing a gritty and complex character to Dogtown, and no matter what style is used, the overhauled RPG elements result in exciting battle scenes, with explosive scenarios at their best.

'Shadows of the Past' achieved the pinnacle of Cyberpunk 2077, and CDPR have learned their lessons to recreate a cyberpunk journey, and the game is well suited to placing your decisions in context to alleviate the feeling of pointlessness. There are some inconsistencies in the dialog options, though, with certain characters elaborating on 'specific content' that clashes a bit with the tone they're conveying.

Cyberpunk 2077: Shadows of the Past will be unlocked on September 26th at 7:00 AM GMT for PC, and at 0:00 AM GMT for XSX|S and PS5, and is available for pre-loading on Steam for $149, or $411.24 for a bundle of the main game and the source material, which is 92% off.
