At the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, the Mercedes-Benz EQG concept car unveiled its mystery and made its debut. Let’s briefly review it. In terms of interior, the design of the new car is basically the same as that of the current Mercedes-Benz G-Class. It adopts a dual-screen design that connects the full LCD instrument panel and the central control multimedia display, and is equipped with the latest dual three-spoke flat-bottomed sports steering wheel. The design of the console is still full of “G flavor”, and the central tunnel area is equipped with a touch panel and some silver decorative panels. It is worth mentioning that the new car has basically eliminated physical buttons in the entire interior, but retains the exciting triple differential lock button. However, we have observed that the function of these three buttons has changed. It is no longer a differential lock switch, but a switch for functions such as EQG Tank Turn, which allows the vehicle to rotate 360 degrees in place.
In the power part, the currently known information is still that it will use four-wheel independent motors and use this feature to achieve four-wheel independent drive; in addition, the new car will also use independent suspension and a new rear axle structure, which will not make it difficult to off-road. People are disappointed. In terms of battery life, Mercedes-Benz officials stated that the new car will be equipped with a newly developed silicon anode battery, which will increase the battery energy density by 20%-40%.
