Mercedes-Benz EQG to launch in 2024

We learned a few days ago that the Mercedes-Benz EQG will be officially launched in 2024. The new car previously performed a wave of “G-Turn” at the 2024 CES show, which must have impressed everyone. This car What kind of price and capabilities will the hard-core off-road electric SUV have? It is indeed worth looking forward to. I believe many friends, like me, are looking forward to a head-to-head competition with U8.

“Mercedes-Benz EQG concept car”

At the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, the Mercedes-Benz EQG concept car unveiled its mystery and made its debut. Let’s briefly review it. In terms of appearance, the Mercedes-Benz EQG highly restores the exterior design of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Even the headlights of the new car are completely reproduced. The grille seems to have changed, and it is expected that the grille design of the EQ family may be adopted. Although this is already a “big G” without an engine, in order to retain the original hardcore SUV style, the front engine compartment has been retained.

The design of the side and rear of the vehicle is completely the same as that of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. However, from the chassis point of view, it seems that there are obvious differences. The exhaust system has disappeared, and there are two differences at the front and rear of the vehicle. At the same time, EQG will provide a motor for each wheel, which means a total of four motors.

In terms of interior, the design of the new car is basically the same as that of the current Mercedes-Benz G-Class. It adopts a dual-screen design that connects the full LCD instrument panel and the central control multimedia display, and is equipped with the latest dual three-spoke flat-bottomed sports steering wheel. The design of the console is still full of “G flavor”, and the central tunnel area is equipped with a touch panel and some silver decorative panels. Even a pure electric vehicle can still show the texture of off-road + luxury + technology.

It is worth mentioning that the new car has basically eliminated physical buttons in the entire interior, but retains the exciting triple differential lock button. However, we have observed that the function of these three buttons has changed. It is no longer a differential lock switch, but a switch for functions such as EQG Tank Turn, which allows the vehicle to rotate 360 degrees in place.

In the power part, the currently known information is still that it will use four-wheel independent motors and use this feature to achieve four-wheel independent drive; in addition, the new car will also use independent suspension and a new rear axle structure, which will not make it difficult to off-road. People are disappointed. In terms of battery life, Mercedes-Benz officials stated that the new car will be equipped with a newly developed silicon anode battery, which will increase the battery energy density by 20%-40%.
