As the next generation of flagship devices is born, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro aims to take the lead in photography. The Chinese tech giant just announced their new era of devices into the Mate line-up, and the Pro model packs all the basics in a flagship device and more. This new series from Huawei starts a few trends that other OEMs in the smartphone industry will no doubt follow. Some of these trends are, satellite connectivity and a variable camera aperture, let us now take a look at the specifications of this device.

As we stated at the onset, this device aims to take the lead in mobile photography, and it will do this with Huawei XMAGE. This, along with a series of camera technology designs, will make the Mate 50 Pro a go-to photography machine for most people. Well, its abilities are not only limited to mobile photography, here are the basic specifications of this device.
- Screen: 6.74-inch OLED FHD+ screen supporting up to 120Hz refresh rate.
- Processor: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4G processor.
- Storage: 256GB/512GB ROM. For some reason, Huawei does not state the RAM on this device.
- Main Camera: Triple setup with a 50MP super optical camera, 13MP ultrawide angle camera, and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera.
- Front Camera: 13MP front-facing camera.
- Battery: 4700mAh battery with 66W Super Fast charge.
- Operating System: Harmony OS 3.0.
- Biometrics: In-screen fingerprint sensor.
On this flagship device, Huawei stuck to its ring-shaped camera cutout as the case with past Mate series devices. But, the Mate 50 Pro drops off the dual camera pill cutout and adopts a slim notch. This notch is only present on the Pro and RS models of this series. Other models use a centre camera cutout, which we see on most Huawei devices.

This device is currently available for pre-order in China, as its launch took place in the region. The company might launch all four devices in this flagship series in other regions in the coming months. For now, the sale of this device will hold in China and shipping will commence on September 28.
The available colours on this device are Daybreak in Kunlun, Kunlun Xiaguang, Obsidian Black, Frost Silver, and Streamer Purple. The retail price starts at 6799 Yuan for the 256GB model and 7799 Yuan for the 512GB model.
