Apple’s new 16-inch MacBook Pro models have up to 22 hours of battery life, which is the longest battery life available on a Mac.
Both the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models have an extra hour of battery life over their predecessors, from 17 hours to 18 hours for the 14-inch model and from 21 hours to 22 hours for the 16-inch model. For comparison, both the M1 and M2 MacBook Air offer 18 hours of battery life, while the 13-inch MacBook Pro offers 20 hours of battery life.
It’s unclear whether this was achieved by increasing battery capacity, but Apple says the improved efficiency of the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips extends battery life and reduces the amount of energy they consume over their lifetimes compared to the previous generation M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.
