AirPods Pro 2 adds a third charging method: Apple Watch charger compatible

Wccfetch, a foreign tech media outlet, noticed a detail: the AirPods Pro 2 can be charged using the Apple Watch’s adapter. The original AirPods Pro supported two charging methods, either through Lightning or wirelessly through MagSafe. Now, the AirPods Pro 2 has a new charging method.

Users can charge their AirPods Pro 2 with the Apple Watch charger. Simply place the charging case on top of the Apple Watch charger for wireless charging. This feature is unique to AirPods Pro 2, as the original model was limited to using the Lightning cable and MagSafe charging. In short, the new models can now be charged in three different ways.

The second-generation AirPods Pro is equipped with the H2 chip, which supports high-bandwidth connectivity for “superior sound quality,” Spatial Audio capabilities that have been further expanded, and new drivers for more detail and a more differentiated triad of sound generation. The second-generation AirPods Pro will retail for $1,899 and will be available for order at 8 p.m. on Sept. 9. They go on sale on Sept. 23. There is a limit of two pairs of AirPods Pro per customer.
