Users report Google Pixel 6/7 series overheating issue alleviated by upgrading to Android 14

Google Pixel 6/7 phone users reported that after upgrading to the Android 14 update, the overheating problem of the phone was alleviated.

Google released the Android 14 stable version update for Pixel phones earlier this month, and the update log did not mention mitigating phone overheating.

However, according to feedback from Reddit users, after upgrading to Android 14, the Pixel 6/7 series models no longer run too hot and run more smoothly. Users also reported that battery life has also been improved.

Note: Google’s Tensor G1 and Tensor G2 are manufactured on Samsung’s 5nm node, which is less efficient than TSMC-based chips. In comparison, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 and Gen 2 chipsets are based on TSMC’s 4nm node and run much cooler.
