Following Qualcomm’s announcement of its new wearable chip Snapdragon W5 / W5 + in July last year, the first to confirm that its next-generation smartwatch will be equipped with Qualcomm’s new wearable chip. Although not yet officially named, tipster Kuba Wojciechowski has released a render of the so-called “Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 5” watch, which is expected to skip the number “4” naming.

The rendering shows a new case design. The new wearable features a crown with a rotating dial and a flush-mounted button. Aside from the layout changes, the case design retains the overall shape of the previous TicWatch Pro model, including the knurled texture around the bezel. The strap also appears to be made of hard silicone. The watch will come with Wear OS 3 built-in.

According to the tipster, the new smartwatch will be publicly announced soon. This comes on the heels of a tease of a next-generation TicWatch Pro, but the details are unknown.

The OPPO Watch 3 and OPPO Watch 3 Pro are the first smartwatches to be equipped with the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chip, and the Gatekeeper smartwatch may be the next product to be equipped with the new chip. Compared to the Snapdragon Wear 4100+ platform, the Snapdragon W5+ is built with a more energy-efficient 4nm process that improves battery life by up to 50%, improves performance by up to twice as much, and takes up 30% less space.
