The 12-inch MacBook is rumored to return M-series processors that are expected to solve performance and cooling problems

In 2015, Apple first launched the 12-inch MacBook, a notebook with an ultra-slim design that weighed only about 900g and remained one of the slimmest series in the full Mac lineup until now. However, in 2018, due to performance issues, Apple abandoned the MacBook lineup and launched two series, the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, which are larger in size, as replacements.

Today, Mark Gurman, a well-known tipster, revealed that Apple is planning to launch a new 12-inch laptop in 2024, which is likely to announce the return of the MacBook.

He believes that the reason why Apple will choose to restart the 12-inch MacBook line is that Apple’s self-developed M-series processors are now able to solve the performance bottleneck that once existed in the small size and fanless design of the MacBook, bringing a better experience for users.

In addition to the 12-inch MacBook, the full-size HomePod and iMac Pro, two of Apple’s equally classic products, are also expected to return in the follow-up.
