According to CCTV reports, Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the Passenger Federation, revealed in an interview that China new energy vehicle sales remained strong in September.

Data show that in September, the wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached about 660,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 95% and a month-on-month increase of 5%. It is expected that the retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles in China will reach a level of about 590,000 in September. Among them, Tesla delivered more than 83,000 vehicles, setting a new record for monthly deliveries again. This has also been confirmed by the Shanghai Securities News.

Cui Dongshu said that the internal reasons for the recent strong retail sales are the release of early-stage consumption and policy promotion. In addition, the supply of new energy vehicles has improved, and the superimposed oil price is still locked in high electricity prices, which has also led to an increase in the number of electric vehicle orders.

Although Tesla never publishes monthly data, relevant agencies and analysts often give their own forecasts and statistics. In an interview with the Securities Times on September 1, Cui Dongshu revealed that Tesla’s August sales are expected to reach 77,000 based on comprehensive information.

According to the July new energy vehicle, retail sales data released by the Passenger Federation, Tesla China’s July wholesale sales were 28,217 units and retail sales were 8,461 units.

Judging from this data, Tesla quickly restored production capacity after upgrading the production line in July and August. It is expected that the delivery volume in the third quarter will reach 343,000 vehicles, including 325,158 Model 3 and Model Y models, accounting for nearly 300,000 vehicles. 95%, Tesla produced 365,000 electric vehicles in the third quarter.

Tesla will deliver 936,200 vehicles globally in 2022, of which Tesla China will deliver a total of 484,100 vehicles, which means that the Shanghai Gigafactory will contribute more than 50% of the output.

In the first two quarters of this year, Tesla delivered 310,000 and 255,000 electric vehicles, respectively. With the latest delivery of 343,000 in the third quarter, the total number of electric vehicles delivered in the first three quarters of this year exceeded 900,000.

According to official data, Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory has a production capacity of more than 750,000 vehicles after the upgrade, making it Tesla’s current Gigafactory with the highest production capacity. Deliveries in the fourth quarter of this year are expected to reach 495,000, according to an internal target set by Tesla.

That said, Tesla’s deliveries in the fourth quarter of each year are higher than in the previous three quarters. This also means that Tesla is expected to sell nearly 1.4 million vehicles this year.
