When the Tesla Model S Plaid was launched, the official claim was that its top speed could reach a top speed of 200 mph (321km/h), but due to software limitations, users bought a car that could not reach this speed, and later, Tesla launched a “track mode” with a top speed of 281km/h.

However, today, this speed can be even faster. According to reports, someone has cracked the Tesla software limitations and upgraded with a stronger brake package and tires (Michelin Pilot Super Sport).

In a test, it ran 216 mph (348km/h), matching the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari Enzo, a speed that is also the fastest reached by a production Tesla.

Ingenext, a company based in Quebec, Canada, known for selling unlocking modules for Tesla cars, is said to have managed to bypass the software limitations of the Model S Plaid, thus completely unlocking the limiting speed.

Andre, a member of the test team, drove this Model S Plaid for about 2km before reaching the aforementioned top speed and started to slow down behind it (3km on the track), slowing down also for several kilometers.

From its Youtube video, this 216 mph Tesla Model S Plaid, sounded as if a jet had taken off from in front of you.
