The first generation of PS VR was released in 2016. Although Sony was not compatible with PC games at the beginning, with the adaptation of developers such as Mediator Software, players finally succeeded through third-party tools such as iVRy and Trinus. Play VR games on PC on PS VR.

In fact, according to the Steam Hardware Survey report, this platform has quite a few PSVR users. But sadly, according to PS VR compatibility driver developers, Sony’s upcoming PS VR 2 should not have such a fate.

According to Road To VR, the iVRy Driver developer claimed on Reddit that Sony encrypts the signal transmitted over USB to prevent the device from being used on a PC.

He said that even if Sony doesn’t do this, there will be other problems that prevent players from playing PC games through PS VR 2. For example, Sony can refuse to support Windows’ SLAM real-time tracker.

Of course, it is not ruled out that there are third-party developers who will reverse-develop the corresponding programs, but you should believe that even if this scene can be realized, it will be in the extremely distant future.

It is reported that Sony PS VR 2 uses a USB-C data cable to transmit video and tracking data, and there is no way to plug in the graphics card. Also, the Sony PlayStation 5 has a USB bandwidth of 10 Gbit/s, so it won’t use the standard DisplayPort over a USB-C signal.

If a third-party developer wants to drive a 4000×2040 HDR signal at 120Hz, they need more than three times the bandwidth, so a simple adapter or splitter will not be able to do the job, let alone PSVR 2 uses inside-out tracking, so you still have The most critical SLAM and controller data and algorithms need to be addressed.

In summary, none of the above problems can be easily solved. Although it is not ruled out that there are big guys who can finally get all the projects, it will definitely take years of hard research, and at that time Sony may have launched a newer generation of PS VR products.

Sony PS VR 2 will be released globally on February 22, at a price of 4,499 CNY in the Bank of China. At the same time, PS VR 2 Sense handles and stereo headphones will also be released, and a series of games will also be launched, such as “Horizon”: The Call of the Mountain.

The charging station for the PlayStation VR2 will retail on its own as a separate bundle, which can be bought when purchasing the gaming headsets. But, those interested in getting one for themselves can start applying for the Pre-order program right away. PlayStation Japan has made the coming launch of the company’s new VR headset public. This confirmation first came from the company’s Japanese Twitter handle. According to the information, Sony’s PlayStation VR2 will launch early next year.

The timing of this launch will space the two generations of Sony’s VR headsets 6 years apart. This spacing leaves the market wondering what is to come and what improvements there will be. Already, Sony took to its newsroom a few weeks ago to tease about the features of this coming VR headset.

One of the many features we expect from the PlayStation VR2 is its refresh rate. The VR2 headset to launch next year (according to PlayStation Japan) will come with either a 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate. It’d also feature a 4K resolution to aid in providing a more immersive viewing experience for gaming.

There are many games we expect to make their way to this VR headset. The company has announced over 20 games to feature on the PlayStation VR2. But we know that after it launches, there will be more additions to the list of games available on the platform.

By the day we are drawing closer to the launch of PlayStation VR2 and the company is getting ready. In one of their recent blog posts, they gave the public a view of what the VR2 will be able to do in terms of its gaming capabilities. This device is a good blend of actual reality with virtual reality.

One feature that will come in very handy for players once this gaming set launch is its see-through design. This is unlike other virtual game sets that require you to grip the controllers before perfectly putting on the headset. With the VR2, players will be able to perfectly put on the headset and still be able to see their surroundings and pick up the controllers.

You will also be able to film those epic reactions you make while playing. This will be possible by connecting the PS5’s HD camera to the PlayStation VR2. A user can get the recording and send it to friends, or just watch them and enjoy their hilarious reactions.

The see-through design of this headset will also make customizing your play area possible. This customization will entail you selecting your playing field in your surrounding environment. By doing this bumping into items in your surrounding will be put in control hence reducing injuries.

Sony also promises two display modes on the PlayStation VR2. The first is virtual reality (VR) mode, which will display games in a 360-degree view. The second will be for games that do not support VR, this is known as Cinematic mode. Here, games will display as they would on a PS5 and an actual displayed screen.

We aren’t sure when this gaming device will launch, and nor are we sure of its pricing. Sony says the VR2’s launch is already in full gear, so we expect this device to be available anytime soon. Meta’s Oculus is in for a bumpy ride once Sony launched their new VR gaming headset.

There has been a lot of news about PS VR2 recently, but the physical object is still only on those official display pictures that Sony announced at the very beginning, and today a game studio called Bit Planet Games brought us the first real photos of PS VR2. From the photos, the headset body comes with a longer cable. One user asked if this would violate the NDA, and the studio said it would indeed violate the NDA if the photo was released six months ago.

Sony officially announced Sony’s PSVR second-generation headset Playstation VR2 and its specific parameters at the beginning of January this year. At a business briefing meeting last month, SIE president Jim Ryan said they had prepared at least 20 game titles for the PS VR2 launch, including first-party, and third-party ones. According to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consulting, the new headset will go on sale next year and will use AMOLED screens.
