Foreign technology media MacRumors reported that Apple plans to hold a special spring event next week and will launch yellow for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models.

Apple usually launches a new color scheme for the iPhone model at the spring conference. Summary of the new colors added by Apple in previous spring events as follows:

In March 2017, Apple added (PRODUCT) RED special editions to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

In April 2018, Apple added (PRODUCT) RED special editions to the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

In April 2021, Apple added purple to the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini.

In March 2022, Apple added green to the iPhone 13 and Pale Green to the iPhone 13 Pro.

Apple offered yellow options for the iPhone XR in 2018 and the iPhone 11 in 2019. It’s unclear if Apple plans to offer a new color for the iPhone 14 Pro models, but the yellow could be closer to the existing gold option for these devices.

Ross Young, CEO of the screen supply chain consulting company DSCC, revealed earlier this month that the shipment of screen components for Apple’s iPhone 14 Plus dropped almost to zero in December last year and January this year to zero.

This shows that Apple has “acknowledged” the failure of the iPhone 14 Plus to some extent, by adjusting shipments to supply the iPhone 14 Pro models. But this does not mean that Apple has given up on saving the iPhone 14 Plus. Recently, it launched a promotional video called “The Hunt”, which highlights the long battery life of the iPhone 14 Plus.

Apple released a new video on its official YouTube channel in Canada, featuring former NHL stars P.K. Subban and Joe Thornton. In the video, the two search for Subban’s missing tooth on an empty outdoor hockey rink.

They used the iPhone’s flashlight for the lengthy search. Apple advertised the excellent battery life of the iPhone 14 Plus in the video description and translated it as follows: “The iPhone 14 Plus has the best battery life, and it can meet your needs when you need to find something.” Also reads “Relax, it’s iPhone!” (Relax! You’re holding an iPhone).

DXOMARK announced tonight that Apple’s iPhone 14 Plus scored a total of 141 points in its audio test, placing it 12th in the global rankings.

Officials say the differences between this model and the rest of the iPhone 14 series are minimal, with very similar audio performance in both playback and recording tests.

DXOMARK says the iPhone 14 Plus has good overall tone and dynamics and performs well when recording loud sounds like concerts. Wind noise reduction needs some fine-tuning, but the results are satisfactory. On the downside, midrange reproduction is context-dependent and can sound tinny depending on the app and use case. The signal-to-noise ratio could be adjusted higher, as the main vocal content is masked by ambient noise, and the audio zoom performance is poor.

DSCC CEO and well-known display industry analyst Ross Young recently said that iPhone 14 Plus panel shipments in December were close to zero. Compared with the iPhone 13 lineup in 2021, Apple’s overall display procurement in the supply chain for iPhone 14 in 2022 is expected to grow by 10 percent.

This is largely due to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which, as previously reported, outsold the two Pro models over the two iPhone 13 Pro models. This has also led to an increase in the average selling price of the iPhone 14 series, a metric that Apple relies on when reporting earnings to investors.

The iPhone 14 Series panel purchases in 2022 are up 10 percent over the iPhone 13 Series in 2021, despite a 9 percent decline in the smartphone market. The blended ASP for these devices is also up 10 percent, with 14 Pro / Pro Max accounting for 64 percent of the share and 13 Pro / Max accounting for 51 percent.

It’s not surprising that iPhone 14 Plus panel shipments were “near zero” in December. A previous report said that Apple had actually halted production of the device to better align production with demand. However, despite lower-than-expected demand, Apple is reportedly still planning to launch the iPhone 15 Plus next year.

According to Apple, users can expect up to 26 hours of video playback and 100 hours of audio playback on the iPhone 14 Plus. As with all iPhone 14 models, iPhone 14 Plus supports MagSafe magnetic charging, which charges the device to 50 percent of its capacity in 30 minutes.

Same camera as iPhone 14 Standard
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have the same camera features and specifications, meaning customers don’t need to consider which device takes better pictures when choosing between them.

Both models feature a 12-megapixel primary camera with ƒ/1.5 aperture and sensor-shift optical image stabilization. Both models have a 12MP ultra-wide angle camera with a 120-degree field of view, ƒ/2.4 aperture, and 13mm lens. iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus also feature True Tone flash with Deep Fusion support, Smart HDR, Photon Engine and a new selfie camera with autofocus support.

Performance powered by the A15 Bionic chip
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are powered by the same A15 Bionic chip that was in the iPhone 13 Pro last year. Last year, the 5-core GPU chip was reserved for iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, while the iPhone 13 Standard model had a 4-core GPU.

Apple says that the chip from last year’s iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Plus deliver powerful performance for apps, games and AR experiences. All models of the iPhone 14 Series, including the iPhone 14 Pro, support an updated internal design for better thermal management.

Ultra Retina XDR display
iPhone 14 Plus features a 6.7-inch display, the same size as the display on iPhone 14 Pro Max. iPhone 14 Plus has a 458ppi Super Retina XDR display that achieves 1200 nits peak brightness for HDR content, supports a 2000000:1 contrast ratio, native color display, and a wide color gamut.

Durability
The front of iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max all feature an UltraCeramic Crystal panel. Announced at the launch of the iPhone 12, the Ultra Ceramica panel introduces nanocrystals into the display glass for better protection against drops and strains. All iPhone 14 models are IP68 water and dust-resistant, which means they can stay underwater for up to 30 minutes at depths of up to 6 meters.

A product supply tracker says demand for the iPhone 14 Pro model remains high relative to the iPhone 13 Pro, while demand for the iPhone 14 is apparently weaker than the iPhone 13, but there seems to be good news for the iPhone 14 Plus.

Since its launch, the iPhone 14 Pro has proven itself to be a very popular device with consumers. In its fourth week, Sunday’s Apple Product Availability Tracker by analysts at JP Morgan concluded that the situation was similar to the previous week, with strong demand for Pro models and weak demand for non-Pro models.

The silver lining for the iPhone 14, however, is the iPhone 14 Plus. As the October 7 release date approaches, delivery times for this model are starting to extend beyond the debut date in most regions other than the US. J.P. Morgan sees this as a sign that the model is gaining traction with consumers as the release date draws closer.

Overall, the average delivery times for iPhone 14, Pro and Pro Max were 2 days, 33 days and 40 days respectively across all regions. The iPhone 14 had a shorter delivery time compared to the iPhone 13, the iPhone 14 Pro had an “in-line or slightly lower” delivery time and the Pro Max had an “even longer” delivery time.

In the US, iPhone 14 lead times are stable at four days, while the Plus appears to be tracking its first availability date. Delivery times for the Pro and Pro Max have increased slightly to 32 and 39 days respectively.

In Apple Store shops, iPhone 14 and Pro are available for same-day pickup, while Pro Max requires a wait.

Delivery times for the Pro models in the China region have increased to 36 and 43 days respectively. Meanwhile, delivery times for iPhone 14 are just two days, down from four days a week ago, while at press time, delivery times for Plus are beyond 7 October.

In Germany and the UK, the iPhone 14 is a next-day delivery and the iPhone 14 Plus shows delivery scheduled for launch day, which is significantly less popular than the iPhone 13 and 13 mini in 2021. In terms of the Pro version, delivery times are up slightly in Germany but remain unchanged in the UK.

Tracking data in the wearables supply chain showed strong demand for the Apple Watch Ultra continued for another week with delivery times of 26 days, although down slightly from 30 days a week ago. down to 6 days.

The second generation AirPods Pro now has a delivery time of around 4 days worldwide but not in China. There, the delivery time has now been extended from 4 to 11 days.

September has been a very busy month for Apple. The company announced the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 8 and the new Apple Watch SE 2, as well as the Apple Watch Ultra and the new AirPods Pro 2 at its “Ultra Forward” event. On the software side, Apple released iOS 16, watchOS 9, and tvOS 16, among others.

All attention now turns to events in October and beyond, and there are rumors that Apple still has plenty planned through the end of 2022. Below, MacRumors has compiled a list of some of the major announcements Apple will be making later this year.

iPhone 14 Plus on sale
The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max went on sale on September 16, but the iPhone 14 Plus will go on sale on October 7. Apple did not provide a reason for the staggered launch, but iPhone 14 Plus is a new addition to the lineup and will be the first-ever non-Pro model with a large 6.7-inch display.

Key new features of the iPhone 14 Plus include crash detection, upcoming support for sending emergency text messages via satellite in the U.S. and Canada, longer battery life, an improved camera, and an easier-to-fix design with a removable rear glass panel. The device uses the same A15 bionic chip (with a quintuple-core GPU) as the iPhone 13 Pro.

The only differences between the iPhone 14 Plus and the smaller 6.1-inch iPhone 14 are display size, battery life, weight and price.

iOS 16.1 Real-time activity and more
Apple says iOS 16.1 will be released later this year. The software update will include several new features for iPhone, such as real-time activity support in third-party apps, clean energy charging options in the U.S., support for Matter accessories in the Home family app, Apple Fitness+ workouts without an Apple Watch, and more.

It’s unclear whether iOS 16.1 will include features like iCloud shared photo libraries and the new Freeform digital whiteboard app that Apple says will be available later this year. iOS 16.2 will likely be released this December and promises to bring all remaining features.

Apple Events in October
Apple often holds events in October to announce new iPad and Mac models, and this year may be no exception. But we’ll have to wait for Apple’s official announcement.

For the October event, rumors suggest that Apple plans to release new iPad Pro models with the M2 chip, a redesigned 10th generation entry-level iPad, and at least more Macs with the M2 family of chips. by the end of 2022, there will almost certainly be a new Mac Pro, and new MacBook Pro and Mac mini models could be released as well.

iPadOS 16 and macOS 13 Ventura Release Dates
Apple says iPad OS 16 and macOS 13 Ventura will be released to the public in October. Apple may announce the exact release date of the software update during or immediately after the October event.

iPadOS 16 was previously expected to be released in September along with iOS 16, but Apple pushed the software update back to October and may focus on improving the front-of-the-stage management feature after some users criticized the feature for its various shortcomings. Apple said the software update will be marked as iPadOS 16.1, not iPadOS 16.0.

Apple Music Classics
In August 2021, Apple announced the acquisition of the classical music service Primephonic. at the time, Apple said it planned to launch a dedicated classical music app in 2022 that would combine Primephonic’s user interface with additional features.

Few details are known about the dedicated Apple Music Classical app or when it will launch, but it should be available near the end of 2022.

“A total of six or seven units were sold today, and what I earned was not as much as what I lost on one yesterday.” In front of the West Lake Apple shop, a scalper Sun complained to the Qianjiang Evening News – Hourly News reporter that the iPhone 14 Pro Max he received yesterday at a markup of RMB 1,800 was sold today at a markup of only RMB 600 and that six or seven phones were dumped today without filling up the hole.

Apple’s new iPhone 14 series officially went on sale. There was also a line of fruit fans at the entrance of the West Lake Apple Store to experience the new phones. Many fruit fans who couldn’t get the new machine chose to buy the phone from the scalpers at the door.

Every iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro was packed with test customers in front of it, and one iPhone 14Pro Max near the door even had no trace of power left and was simply switched off.

Many customers were asking one question: when will the real phones be available for pickup in the shop?

Apple staff replied over and over again that there were only a small number of real machines in the shop and that customers needed to make an online appointment for in-store pickup to be available.

At the Westwood Apple shop directly across the street, every citizen who passed by with a new phone in his hand was surrounded by eight or nine scalpers. “Dude, take the phone at a higher price.” “Dude, a dark purple one? I’ll take it for RMB 300 extra.” “Want to buy a phone? Get it cheap.”

The reporter came out of the West Lake Apple shop and was also surrounded by several scalpers. One scalper led the reporter to a corner, he called himself Sun and pointed to several Apple phones on the ground and said, “They are just collected, all have warranty cards, all are licensed, cheaper for you.” The iPhone 14 was offered at a loss of RMB 100 upside down, the iPhone 14 Pro at RMB 300 markup, the 1T gold and white iPhone 14 Pro Max at RMB 500 markup, and the black and dark purple at an RMB 600 markup.

A pair of young men came over with two iPhone 14 Pro Max, and Sun pulled them to the side and held out two fingers. “Only RMB 200 more for each one? We’re good with our own.” The young men were a little surprised. “You don’t sell this gold well, the dark purple is pretty,” Sun explained. After some haggling, the price was finally raised by RMB 500 and the two phones were taken.

“iPhones don’t sell well now, a few years ago a phone made five or six thousand, now you dare to stay overnight and wait to lose money,” Sun complained, that yesterday morning’s Pro Max markup was RMB 2800, yesterday afternoon markup also to RMB 2500, today it has fallen to this. “I kept one yesterday, and today I sold six or seven phones and haven’t made it back.”

The reporter left Sun, a few scalpers on the side and then surrounded, “14 cheap RMB 200 want.” “Pro plus a 200 to take a bar.” “Leave a phone number, add a friend, what you want to send you over.” Scalpers’ promotions are even more enthusiastic than Apple’s official website.
