AnTuTu is one of the most popular benchmarking platforms out there. It is available for both the iOS and Android platforms and reviewers often use it to get an idea about the device’s overall performance. The AnTuTu releases the list of top-performing smartphones at a regular time interval and now, the top-performing smartphones for the month of September have been released in China. The report has some surprising things to say, let’s dive deep into the information.

AnTuTu report claims Dimensity 9000+ superior to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1

Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets are known for their sustainable performance and developer support. However, after the launch of the Snapdragon 888 chipset, the Snapdragon failed to offer a sustainable performance and the chipsets launched after that were known for their heating and thermal thrilling issues. But, the most recent Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 seems to have solved the issues present in the predecessor.

MediaTek

Meanwhile, during this time, MediaTek worked on its chipsets and also entered the flagship market. Their chipsets did not have any thermal throttling issues, unlike Snapdragon flagships. And also according to the list of top 10 performing smartphones in China, shared by the AnTuTu, the ASUS ROG Phone 6D has managed to conquer the list by scoring 1123036 points in the AnTuTu benchmarks.

It is the only device powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset and the rest of the devices in the list are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. However, even being the only device on the list to power up using the MediaTek flagship, the device has been able to beat out every other device present on the list.

All of this, however, is based on a report made public by AnTuTu. The devices’ and chipset’s actual performance might be different. Finally, it came as no surprise to us that MediaTek was able to outperform Qualcomm’s flagship chip, at least according to AuTuTu reports. Let’s see if the Qualcomm Snapdragon can beat MediaTek to the top spot in the market for flagship mobile chipsets.

ASUS Zenfone 9 takes the second place in the list of the best Android devices on AnTuTu https://www.techgoing.com/asus-zenfone-9-takes-the-second-place-in-the-list-of-the-best-android-devices-on-antutu/ Thu, 04 Aug 2022 16:52:45 +0000 https://www.techgoing.com/?p=13750 The small and compact ASUS ZenPhone 9 has taken the second place on AnTuTu's ranking for the best performing Android flagship devices.

The ASUS Zenfone 9 has proven itself to be a small but mighty device by taking on the competition. The new AnTuTu ranking for Android smartphones places the compact ZenPhone in second place on the top ten list. Its score of 1,089,919 put it below the ASUS ROG Phone 6 Pro.

Some might wonder how a 5.9-inch device finds itself in second place among the top-performance flagship devices. It all comes down to the processing power of this device and how ASUS did a good job with its optimizations. This device uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, the fastest SoC from Qualcomm at this time.

What is more interesting is that the ASUS Zenfone 9 is above a core gaming device on AnTuTu’s global ranking. It finds itself above the Red Magic 7 with over 40,000 points although it is not a gaming device. Funny enough, this 5.9-inch compact device also deals a fine blow to the Black Shark 5 Pro, passing it with about 60,000 points.

This proves that size isn’t a hindrance to the performance ability of any smartphone. ASUS on its part isn’t new to the top spots on the global ranking for device performance. Over the years, it has found itself in the top five spots with its ROG gaming smartphone line. The July ranking places two of its smartphones on the list just next to one another.

The list for last month topples that from the month before it (July) by introducing three new top players. This proves that this isn’t a stable result, as the launch of newer devices constantly changes the rankings. ASUS Zenfone 9 should enjoy its stay at the top while it lasts because the launch of new devices might upset AnTuTu’s list against ASUS.

The competition for the best-performing flagship phone is intense and ASUS ROG Phone 6 Pro is taking the lead. With the launch of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, most manufacturers have new devices using this processor. Well, the contenders for the top spot on the table of best-performing smartphones aren’t only Snapdragon devices. Devices using the MediaTek 9000+ flagship processor also join their counterparts in this struggle.

In AnTuTu’s latest updates, the benchmark testing company gave a rundown of top performers according to its testing standards. Among the top five devices that make this list are three Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 devices. Following through is a Snapdragon 8 gen 1 device and a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 device. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 device secure scores reaching over 1.1 million points.

Making the top place is the ASUS ROG Phone 6 Pro with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and a clean 1,114,647 score. Following it closely is the ASUS ZenFone 9 with the same processor and a score of 1,089,919 a bit below what the ROG Phone 6 Pro scores. Third place is in the firm grips of the Nubian Red Magic 7, this device is about 40,000 points below the second position.

Black Shark 5 Pro takes fourth place with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, and following it is the Vivo X80 Pro with the MediaTek processor. If you take a look at the score chart that AnTuTu gave, you’d notice the dominance of gaming smartphones. This is a result of the series of optimizations these devices undergo just to attain top performance capabilities. Asides from the processor power, gaming smartphones are almost perfectly optimized to play games and perform heavy tasks with ease.

The year is not over, we are still expecting some devices to launch using the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The ASUS ROG Phone 6 Pro should not feel so comfortable at its top spot, we haven’t seen all the smartphone industry has to offer. Top performers like the Motorola X30 Pro and the Lenovo Legion Y70 are yet to launch. Once available, they might go for the top performance spot on the AnTuTu benchmark.
