Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Flip5 folding screen phone began to reveal that it may correct the two main problems that still exist in its predecessor, the Z Flip4.

DSCC analyst Ross Young said that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 will feature a larger secondary display of about 3.3 inches to 3.4 inches, while the current Flip4 has a 1.9-inch secondary screen.

According to Ross Young, the internal screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will also be upgraded, bringing lighter creases. Specifically, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 is said to feature a new hinge design, which will “reduce the visibility of the seams. It’s unclear if it will actually reduce the feel of the crease.

Samsung only released the Galaxy Z Flip4 at the end of August this year, and the device seems to be becoming the most successful folding screen phone to date.

The report says that Samsung is aiming to ship 26 million folding-screen Galaxy phones by 2023, and upgrading the Galaxy Z Flip5 with a larger secondary screen and a better hinge will certainly play an important role in that strategy. Samsung is expected to release the new Galaxy Z Flip5 in August-September 2023.
