Following the launch of the Dimensity 1080 SoC, Realme will step up to launch a device using this processor. We were able to get a hint of this information from a recent tweet from the company’s CEO. The tweet came in the form of a challenge to get 1080 likes, with the reward being the launch of a device using the new MediaTek processor.

There is no information regarding the device that will launch with this processor, but we are sure to see it before the year comes to an end. Already we know that the Realme 10 series are prepping for launch, which might take place before 2023. Possibly one device in this series will make use of the new midrange 5G processor from MediaTek.

The FCC certification of the Realme 10 is already available, and this device will also use a midrange MediaTek processor. But the device will not come with support for 5G connectivity, since the processor on board is the 4G MediaTek Helio G99. If the new MediaTek 1080 is to make an appearance in this series, it will be on either of the Pro models.

From available indications, Realme might be the first to make use of this new midrange processor from MediaTek. Following its launch will be other companies like Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, iQOO, and Motorola with their entries. As we already know, this new midrange processor supports a 200MP sensor on the main camera, so we can expect to see more midrange devices launch with the massive camera sensor.
