Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and 4 Gen 1 processors are the latest entries in the chipmaker’s product line. These processors will power budget Android devices which will launch in the coming months. The fact that these chips will power budget devices doesn’t make them any less capable to handle processing activities.

Unlike the 8+ Gen 1 and 7 Gen 1, Qualcomm Snapdragon did not share the details of these processors. But, the available promotion images for these chips tell a bit about their capabilities. The manufacturer also promises that the 6 Gen 1 and 4 Gen 1 processors will both feature upgrades in performance as against the current processors that the company has to offer in the budget performance range.

Both processors are 5G enabled, but the 6 gen 1 makes use of the 4nm fabrication processor, whereas the 4 Gen 1 is a 6nm chip. The 6 Gen 1 processor aims to turn heads as it offers support for 200MP shots, so we might start seeing some mid-range budget devices with a large sensor. As for the 4 Gen 1 processor, it offers support for a maximum of 108MP on its main camera sensor.

The more powerful 6 Gen 1 processor leans more towards the gaming community as it brings some Qualcomm core gaming features to bear. Some of the core gaming features are a 35% improvement to the Adreno GPU, a 40% improvement in Kryo CPU, and so much more. But the 4 Gen 1 processor only offers support for 120Hz, Qualcomm Game Quick Touch, and variable shading rates.

Some devices that will make use of these processors are already in the pipeline. One such device is the iQOO Z6 Lite which is to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC and will launch in a few weeks. Other devices will follow through after the coming iQOO launch.
