We all know Nio to be a youthful electric car brand, but the company seems to have eyes on the smartphone industry. This device will not be a mid-range flagship product like some might expect but will be a pure flagship device. We are beginning to see some speculations regarding the specifications and features of this device.

For now, there is no leak or reveal as to the in-depth specifications of this device from Nio. But, our sources have been able to narrow down some features that this device will launch with. One of such features is a Snapdragon processor and up to 100W fast charging.

The exact processor this device will use isn’t clear, but it would be one of the Snapdragon 8 series processors. We can conclude that Nio will use a Snapdragon processor on their coming flagship since they use them in their cars. We currently have two processors in the Snapdragon 8 series line-up, by next year another two will join the list at intervals. So, the car manufacturing company will have a rich array of processors to pick for their device, which is to launch next year.

To create seamless transitions between the Nio phone and electric vehicle, the company will need an operating system with the level of optimization as Huawei’s HarmonyOS. This doesn’t mean that the company will use HarmonyOS on their new device. They might choose to make use of Android, but for better cross-platform collaboration, HarmonyOS will be a better option.

The company is also going to stick with launching one device per year. The said device will come with multiple storage configurations, all of which will retail at different price points. We are expecting to see this device launch sometime next year, once available, it will compete with other flagships as well as promotion. Production might not be wide scale as it might appeal to owners of Nio vehicles and tech enthusiasts just like the Nothing Phone (1).
