As the next generation of Apple’s flagship series is coming, rumours have it that the company will introduce the iPhone 15 Ultra. The new entry is said to replace the iPhone 15 Pro Max, hence doing away with that naming configuration. This information is coming from popular Apple tipster Mark Gurman via his Power On update.

This will be carrying on the trend of changes we have seen from the iPhone X series and beyond. With the iPhone X, Apple changed not only the design of their devices but also the naming configuration. But that change did not last for long, as the iPhone 11 series brought yet another change in design and naming.

Ever since the 11 series, the iPhone has stuck to the Pro and Pro Max naming convention but has seen notable changes in design. The introduction of a Mini and then a Plus entry into the more recent series isn’t necessarily a change, but an addition to the iPhone series. But, new reports show that Apple might be planning to shake things up with their coming iPhone 15 series.

According to the reports, the new change to Apple’s coming line-up will include the introduction of the iPhone 15 Ultra among a host of other changes. Some of these changes are the coming of the dynamic island to all iPhone 15 series. There might be no crazy upgrade asides from the change of processor to the Bionic A17, the Ultra model will feature a similar design and camera specification to the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
