According to Bloomberg, BMW expects to increase the company’s electric car deliveries by 70% next year. BMW’s chief financial officer said Nicolas Peter that demand remains strong at the moment and that global deliveries of BMW electric cars are expected to reach 400,000 units in 2023. BMW expects to deliver 240,000 to 245,000 electric cars this year.

Like other automakers, BMW has had to deal with semiconductor shortages and supply chain disruptions related to the epidemic, which have slowed the production of electric cars.

Nicolas Peter said global sales will be down slightly this year compared with last year due to losses in the first half of the year. However, he added, the company is aiming to make “another big leap” in pure electric vehicles next year.
