According to foreign media reports, Apple launched the iPhone 14 / Pro series of smartphones in the early hours of September 8, although in some countries at 8 pm the next day began to accept reservations, 16 began to ship but have not yet started some countries sales, South Korea is one of them.

Information on Apple’s Korean website shows that the iPhone 14 series will be available for pre-order by Korean users from 30 September, this Friday, with shipping starting on 7 October.

While Samsung has a clear advantage in the Korean smartphone market, Apple’s iPhone, which is the dominant player in the global high-end smartphone market, is bound to attract a large number of consumers when it enters the Korean market, competing with Samsung’s high-end models.

Reports in the Korean media have also revealed that two of the country’s major telecoms operators have increased their subsidies for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 on the eve of the iPhone 14 going on sale in Korea. Industry observers believe that the increase in subsidies by the two telecom operators is a means of increasing the competitiveness of Samsung’s smartphone as the high-end model is set to compete with Apple’s iPhone 14 in South Korea.

According to reports in the Korean media, it is SK Telecom and KT, the former being the number one telecom operator in Korea and the latter being the second largest telecom operator in the country, who are raising the subsidy for the purchase of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.

For the 512GB version of the Galaxy Z Flip 4, SK Telecom previously offered a subsidy of 280,000-520,000 won, which has now been increased to 380,000-520,000 won, while KT previously offered a subsidy of 255,000-650,000 won, which has now been increased to a minimum of 265,000 won.
