Google recently restructured its software and hardware teams and established a new “Platforms and Devices” department, which integrates the Android system and Pixel hardware, led by technology executive Rick Osterloh Leadership.

Osterloh previously ran Google’s hardware division, overseeing the development and strategic growth of products including Pixel, Fitbit and Nest.
Osterloh said in an interview with The Verge: “I believe that only by integrating the hardware, software, and artificial intelligence teams into one, can we truly bring disruptive AI experiences to users. This is of great importance to Google’s future development. It is very important. Looking back on this reorganization in the future, we will find that it was a very correct decision.”
This strategic shift reflects Google’s commitment to prioritizing AI and enabling seamless integration across its hardware and software products, with the combined team focused on accelerating the delivery of next-generation AI experiences.
It was previously reported that Google is currently reorganizing its financial organization, including Google Finance, Business Services and Income Cash Business Departments, and will establish more centralized operations centers in Bangalore, Mexico City, Dublin, Chicago and Atlanta to ensure that Pay attention to the development of the AI field.
