Sony PlayStation and game developers Smilegate announced the launch of a VR game called Crossfire: Sierra Squad (Crossfire: Sierra Squad), scheduled to launch in 2023 on PS VR2.

In Crossfire: Sierra Squad, players will take on the role of the leader of an elite firepower squad and engage in a battle for the newly discovered classified biological weapon. Just who made this weapon and what is its purpose? Get ready to face tough resistance from all sides and fight to uncover the truth while repelling all kinds of cunning adversaries.

It is described as a fast-paced, easy-to-learn FPS game. The combat-centric shooter “Crossfire: Sierra Squad” will have players fighting a seemingly endless array of enemy forces with a highly intelligent AI.

Crossfire: Sierra Squad features over 60 campaign missions and 39 weapons, including pistols, rifles, throwable grenades and a sniper rifle with revolutionary ranged mechanics, offering players a variety of options to take out 17 types of enemies.

Players will also engage heavy artillery such as helicopters and LAVs in full 360° VR space, and the game integrates multiple modes (including Arcade, Realistic and Hardcore) to create a gameplay experience for VR newcomers and VR veterans alike, with support for up to four-player co-op and global leaderboards so players’ achievements can be seen around the world.
