The race to launch a device using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor just got a new competitor, the ASUS ROG. The date for the launch of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+processor has seen some setbacks due to COVID-19 restrictions in manufacturing areas. Despite this delay, more smartphone companies are indicating interest in using this processor once it launches.

Previously, we could point out two notable competitors to first launch a device using the 8 Gen 1+ processor. Motorola and Xiaomi have two devices in the work which will use this coming processor. But, Xiaomi 12 Ultra will launch late into the second half of 2022 leaving Motorola as the company to first launch a device using the 8 Gen 1+ processor. But, Motorola now has new competition from the coming ASUS ROG phone.

In a Weibo post from Digital Chat Station, the blogger stated the presence of three smartphones to frontier the use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+. Among DCS mentions are, a gaming phone, an iterative machine, and a real camera flagship device. For the third mention, the blogger states that it’d launch late into the second half of the year. This revelation leaves only two devices in line to first launch a device using Qualcomm’s upcoming processor.

The previous models of the ASUS ROG phone from last year made use of the Snapdragon 888+ processor. It is only wise to make the same move to launch a device with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor. Since this device is a gaming smartphone, it will need max performance to run games and heavy tasks seamlessly.
