With the launch of the new iPad Pro, iPad and Apple TV this week, Apple’s attention is now turning to the Mac lineup. MacRumors says Apple plans to launch new high-end MacBook Pro and Mac mini models with M2 series chips in November this year.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said in this week’s newsletter that macOS Ventura will be released on Monday, October 24, and will include support for the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. The new MacBook Pro will reportedly come with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, but he doesn’t think there will be much else changed about the two laptops.

As for the Mac mini, Gurman has previously said that Apple is working on new models based on the M2 and M2 Pro chips. For now, it seems likely that the new Mac computers will be released directly on Apple’s website in November via a press release.

Gurman noted that Apple has announced new Mac computers in November several times in recent years, including the first-generation 16-inch MacBook Pro in 2019 and three M1-powered Mac models in 2020.

The current 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips were released in October 2021 and have been completely redesigned with new features such as “fringes” and the addition of HDMI, MagSafe and SD card readers.

Last time around, Apple launched the base Mac mini with the M1 chip in November 2020, although the company is still selling a more expensive Intel version with Core i5 and Core i7 processors.

As for the Mac Pro, Gurman doesn’t see this high-end model arriving until 2023, with a new Apple chip. He has previously said that the next Mac Pro will be powered by the M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme chips, while the next MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro and 24-inch iMac are also expected to launch next year.
