Apple website corrects MacBook Pro 2023 spec error: M2 Max only shows 1 “ProRes codec engine”

0

Apple launched its new MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips this week, but a careful look at the specifications page reveals that Apple has reduced the specifications for the media engine.

The M1 Max is listed as having “two video encoding engines” and “two ProRes codecs,” while the M2 Max is listed as having only one.

Apple’s official press release previously indicated that the M2 Max chip had two ProRes codecs. Apple has apparently realized this error, and the relevant product page on Apple’s China website now does show “two ProRes codecs”.

However, the Wayback Machine feature of the Internet Archive does not record the history of this page on Apple’s Chinese website, a screenshot of the incorrect specification information from Apple’s website abroad.
