Apple Thunderbolt Display and original iPad Air will be listed as obsolete on May 31

According to an internal memo obtained by foreign technology media MacRumors, Apple plans to classify the Thunderbolt Display and the first-generation iPad Air as “obsolete” products on May 31.

Obsolete products are products that are more than 5 years old but less than 7 years old from the date they were discontinued by Apple. Obsolete products cannot be repaired or otherwise serviced at the Apple Store or by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Thunderbolt Display:

Apple introduced the Thunderbolt Display in 2011 with 27-inch screen size, 1440P resolution, 720P webcam, three USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire 800 port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a Thunderbolt port.

First-generation iPad Air:

Apple introduced the first-generation iPad Air in 2013 and discontinued it in 2016. Equipped with a 9.7-inch display and A7 chip, the device was officially advertised as 20% thinner, 28% lighter and 43% narrower than the previous iPad.
