Today, Caron Thor, Apple’s senior manager of camera quality, said more than 3 trillion photos were taken with the iPhone last year alone.

The 3 trillion photos also included photos taken for Apple’s popular Shot on iPhone campaign. The campaign is promoted by placing photos taken by iPhone users on Instagram, Apple’s website and billboards around the world.

The latest release of the iPhone 14 series sees upgrades in imaging. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus feature a 12-megapixel main camera with a larger sensor and pixel size, a new front-facing proximity camera, and an ultra-wide angle camera for shooting wider scenes.

iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max feature a Pro-class camera system with a new 48-megapixel main camera. This is the first time the Pro lineup features a new 48-megapixel main camera with a quadruple pixel sensor.

In addition, the light engine also brings improved low-light performance. Through deep hardware and software integration, the Light Engine improves the performance of all cameras in low and medium light conditions.
