Apple today released iOS / iPadOS 16.4 and macOS 13.3, a system update that brings several improvements to the Apple Podcasts app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and CarPlay.
Podcast Channel List
The Podcasts app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac has a new menu called Channels. When users click on this menu, they can view all current podcasts, making it easy to find the channels they are interested in.
Up Next
The Up Next queue will contain episodes of podcasts that listeners have chosen to save to the Library, as well as podcasts they haven’t followed but have listened to previously, and IT House has learned from reports that users will also have additional tools to manage Up Next.
See how many unaired episodes are left on a channel
Users can more visually see how many episodes are left on the channel they are following.
Improved podcast experience for the CarPlay platform
CarPlay’s Listen Now page provides access to Up Next and Recently Played entries. Editor’s picks for podcasts are available in the Browse tab.
