Apple investigates iPhone 14 Pro models stuck after backup data transfer

Apple said in an internal memo today that the company is investigating a bug that may be causing iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models to get stuck after customers transfer data from older iPhone versions. In the memo, Apple said it was “aware that this issue has occurred and is being investigated”.

In particular, Apple says that some customers may find that their new iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max models become unresponsive after an iCloud recovery or data transfer from a previous iPhone during a quick start.

As a temporary solution, Apple is advising customers to try to force a restart if their iPhone becomes unresponsive for more than five minutes.

On Friday, new iPhone 14 Pro customers faced a similar issue with device activation. While the iPhone 14 Pro comes with iOS 16, there is an available iOS 16.0.1 update and customers should install it after setting up their new device or they may face the embarrassment of not being able to move on to the next step.
