Apple Extends iPhone 12 / Pro “No Sound” Service Plan

0

Apple updated its iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro service plans for the “no sound” issue.

Apple said this program provides coverage for affected iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro devices for a period of three years from the date of the device’s first retail sale. Previously, it was two years after the first retail sale.

Apple previously confirmed that a very small number of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices may have sound issues due to a component on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro earpiece module that may be malfunctioning. Production dates for affected devices are between October 2020 and April 2021.

Apple notes that if a user’s iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro does not produce sound in the earpiece when making or receiving a call, the device may be eligible for service. Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will overhaul eligible devices at no charge.

It is important to note that iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max models are not covered under this program. In addition, Apple may limit the repair area to the country or region of original purchase; this Apple Global Program does not extend the standard warranty coverage for iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro. Customers’ Consumer Rights Act rights are not affected by this program.
