Apple Boot Camp Assistant 6.1.16 Update: WiFi WPA3 support, fixes Bluetooth driver issues

Apple today released a new version of its Boot Camp boot conversion assistant, which allows Windows systems to run on Intel-based Macs. Boot Camp 6.1.16 is a smaller bug fix update, after the previous 6.1.12 update fixed Bluetooth and WiFi driver stability issues.

According to the release notes for the update, the software introduces WiFi WPA3 support and fixes Bluetooth driver issues that sometimes occur when resuming from sleep or hibernation.

Apple rolled out the Boot Camp 6.1.17 update back in March of this year, which is available to Intel Mac users who connect to the Studio Display.

Boot Camp users can navigate to the Start menu in Windows and open the Apple Software Update application to install the new Boot Camp drivers.

According to Apple’s website, Boot Conversion is a utility that comes with the Mac that allows you to switch between macOS and Windows. Download a copy of Windows 10/11 and let the Boot Camp Assistant guide you through the installation steps on your Intel-based Mac.

Boot Camp is a feature that is only available on older Intel-based Macs. It is not compatible with Apple Silicon Macs, and these devices will not run Windows 11 natively unless virtualization software is used.
