Apple has just officially announced on their official website that the MacBook Air with M2 chip will be available for pre-order on July 8 (this Friday), and will be officially shipped on July 15. According to the official store, each consumer is still limited to two units, providing a 13-inch M2 chip 8 + 256GB 8-core graphics and a 13-inch M2 chip 8 + 512GB 10-core graphics, two versions to choose from, priced from 9499 yuan.

Although the price has been adjusted upward compared to the M1 version, the new MacBook Air brings huge upgrades in both appearance and design as well as performance.

First of all, in terms of appearance, the screen is upgraded to a 13.6-inch bangs screen with brightness up to 500nit, narrower bezels, a front camera upgrade 1080p, etc.

The whole machine is only 11.3mm thick and weighs 2.7 pounds, reducing the volume by 20%, just like the Air’s name, very thin and portable.

However, Apple does not compromise on performance just because it is thin and light.

The new model is equipped with the latest generation of its own M2 chip with a second-generation 5nm manufacturing process and 20 billion transistors, 25% more than the M1 chip. It supports up to 24GB of LPDDR5 unified memory with four high-performance cores and four high-performance cores.

The chip also supports a unified memory bandwidth of 100GB/s. The number of neural engines also reaches 1.58 billion, which is 40% more than M1, making it a major upgrade in almost all aspects.

In addition, on this generation, the MagSafe charging interface also gets back, up to 67W fast charging, while the whole machine is full with 18 hours of battery life.

Apple offers four colorways this time, namely silver, dark sky gray, gold, and dark blue.
