Xpeng G9 interior spy photos reveal multi-screen layout and an hollow sub-instrument panel

Interior spy photos exposed by some media reveal some more features of what we know now about Xpeng Motors fourth edition, the Xpeng G9. This new generation flagship car is loftier and more progressive than the Xpeng G3i and would hit the market as a medium-to-large SUV.

Xpeng G9 Design

The spy photos have revealed the design of the car’s sub-instrument panel, door panel, and LCD instrument. Looking at the car would make one think of it as an SUV edition of the Xpeng P7 sedan. The car promises to bring in a new family-style design language, where the company has made some headway by letting the car adopt the family-style X Robot Face and come with a classy bonnet.

The car has a personable face with the signature full-width, super lean DRL strip at the top with separate penetrating lightsaber headlights; the face also features 4 daytime running lights added to the main light source of the split headlights. The headlights carry two LiDAR sensors, a smooth mask replacing the conventional radiator grille, and a mesh-pattern lower air intake. Over and above the Xpeng P5, the new model incorporates 2 higher-end lamps underneath the headlights. The lamp cavity too experiments with a new mechanical style.

The body of the car suits up as attractive as the face, with a horizontal high waistline running the length of the car. G9 sports a sleek greenhouse with smooth surfacing and door panels that come with flush-fit handles and a neat design. The entire body rests on beefy five-spoke 21-inch alloy wheels.

To not stay behind in this style spectacle, the rear presses through-type tail lamps yielding a fuller design. The rear more or less imitates the looks of P7. G9 would be the first to be etched with the company’s brand new logo.

Xpeng G9: Interior

The car offers as many attractive features inside as it offers elegant looks outside. The digital real estate inside the car includes a considerable digital cluster, a central infotainment screen, and a third screen dedicated to the co-driver. The central console provides pockets to hold two bottles and also has two wireless smartphone charging decks. Underneath, it also carries charging ports for USB type A and C and a 12V power socket.

Xpeng G9: Intelligence

In addition to the two LiDARS, the car comes packed with multiple high-definition cameras, millimeter-wave radar and ultrasonic radar. It would employ the XPILOT 4.0 intelligent driving system. A provision for non-inductive OTA upgrades and a full vehicle upgrade time brought down to less than 30 minutes, seems possible with the X-EEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture that the car is built upon. High-integration hardware architecture of central supercomputing and regional control would allow more advanced automatic driving and ever-more intelligent functions like intelligent cockpits.

Speaking of power, the car would have the XPOWER 3.0 power system decked out with an 800-volt high-voltage silicon carbide electric drive system. This would yield a max intensity that can reach 95%. Its overall efficiency can also reach up to 89%. The battery packs 100 kWh of juice and has the highest energy density and extended life. The power density is 2.2 kW/kg. The battery also comes equipped with single-sided self-sealing technology and a liquid-cooled high-voltage electrical unit. Compared to the 400-volt system, the 800 one installed in the G9 can increase the battery life by another 5%. Xpeng G9 would be the first mass-produced car based on the 800V high-voltage SiC platform in China. It would offer a whopping overcharge capacity of over 200kms in 5 minutes of charging.
