Since it became available for pre-order, buyers have begun placing orders for the electric SUV. In less than 24 hours of being made available, the company has got 22,819 pre-orders from China alone.

This record is impressive as it highlights how fast XPeng is growing and becoming more popular in the EV market. The actual sale or launch of this vehicle in China will kick off in the month of September. To place an order for this electric SUV, customers only need to pay a deposit of 2,000 Yuan (~$300). By paying that amount to XPeng via their official website a customer gets a reservation of the vehicle, and that amount is fully refundable.

The XPeng G9 is China’s first electric SUV that is built on the 800V high-voltage SiC platform. It promises a total range of 200km after just 5 minutes of charge. That time won’t get it to 100% but can deliver a 200km range, meaning that this vehicle is one of the world’s fastest charging EVs.

The maximum range of this vehicle is 702km on a single full charge, which is very impressive. Comparing this with the information above, this SUV will charge up in about 18 minutes. We will give a full update on the abilities and pricing of this vehicle once it launches in August.
