Xiaomi Redmi for some markets quietly released the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ low-end phones.

The Redmi A2 features a 6.52-inch 720×1600 touchscreen, a built-in MediaTek Helio G36 chip, 2GB or 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage with expandable storage, an 8MP rear camera + auxiliary camera, a 5MP selfie camera on the front, a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging support, and a microUSB port. The 10W charger is included in the box. Retains 3.5mm headphone jack.

The phone runs Android 12 Go version and does not support 5G network.

The Redmi A2+ phone is almost the exact same device as the Redmi A2, but with one added feature: a rear-mounted fingerprint recognition sensor. It will be brought in light blue, light green and black. Information such as pricing and availability has not yet been announced.

Note:

The MediaTek Helio G36 chip is powered by a 12nm FinFET process that supports a 50MP camera, 90Hz display and MediaTek’s HyperEngine 2.0 Lite gaming engine, which supports dynamic allocation of CPU and GPU and memory resources, global dual 4G connectivity, and intelligent prediction of Wi-Fi and LTE concurrency.

The MediaTek Helio G36’s octa-core Arm Cortex-A53 processor delivers 2.2GHz peak frequency for entry-level gaming smartphones. The IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU offers a combination of performance and power efficiency with support for up to 8GB of LPDDR4x memory.
