Xiaomi India’s official Twitter account recently announced in a post that it will bring SA 5G network compatibility to the Xiaomi 11X, Xiaomi 11X Pro and Xiaomi 11Lite NE 5G via an OTA update.
In addition, Xiaomi also said that the Xiaomi 10, Xiaomi 10i, Xiaomi 10T and Xiaomi 10T Pro will also receive the same OTA update, so that more Indian cell phone users can connect to the 5G network.
Xiaomi has already partnered with Indian telecom operator Reliance Jio to bring standalone (SA) 5G technology to Xiaomi and Redmi 5G devices, providing users with a “True 5G” experience.
Xiaomi said it has made available an OTA update to support SA networks, allowing users to seamlessly connect to Reliance Jio’s True 5G (SA) network by simply changing the preferred network type to 5G in the settings of their Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones. In addition, all Xiaomi and Redmi 5G handsets also support Airtel 5G (NSA) services.
