There are still a few months to go before the release of Apple’s iPhone 15 series, but various rumors and leaks about the new machine have been popping up. Lew, the host of the YouTube channel Unbox Therapy, recently showed off a model of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, confirming many of the previously rumored changes and features of the new model.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max model shows some obvious changes to the new model’s exterior design. First, the sides of the body are brushed metal, while the back is frosted, which increases grip and slip resistance. Since the new device will be a bit thicker than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, there will be less of a rear camera bulge and more room for the battery.

Secondly, not surprisingly, the iPhone 15 Pro Max uses the USB-C interface, meaning Apple is finally giving up its own Lightning interface, mainly due to pressure from government agencies such as the European Union, which requires cell phone manufacturers to unify the use of the USB-C interface. However, Apple is said to have added a chip to the USB-C interface so that only MFI-certified cables can support faster charging and data transfer speeds. The EU has already objected to this and set new rules, but they won’t take effect until a few years from now.

Once again, the mute switch on the iPhone 15 Pro Max model becomes a customizable action button, similar to the action button on the Apple Watch Ultra.

Finally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max model has significantly narrower screen bezels, with the front bezel (black edge) reportedly only 1.57 mm wide and the body 76.66 mm wide, resulting in a higher screen-to-body ratio, as well as a reported shrinkage of the Lingering Island.

As for the configuration inside the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it is expected to be equipped with the A17 bionic chip made on 3nm process.

According to some sources, the iPhone 15 Pro series could be priced $100 higher than the iPhone 14 Pro series. In other words, the iPhone 15 Pro could sell for $1099, while the Pro Max could sell for $1199.

These are only speculations and rumors and do not represent the facts, we still have to wait until Apple officially released the iPhone 15 series to know the answer.
