Recently, Xiaomi 11 series mobile phones have attracted widespread public attention due to quality problems, “Xiaomi 11 series repeatedly exposed to quality problems by the rights” on Weibo hot search. “I wonder when the next motherboard burn will be?” A first-time user posted an after-sales service record, saying his Xiaomi 11 Pro had been repaired three times.
There are also users complaining that they got their first paycheck to buy the Xiaomi 11, which failed three times a year, burning the screen black for no reason, and the phone data has been emptied three times because of quality issues.
Digital blogger “Technology Xiao nai,” said, “I didn’t expect that the Mi 11 with Wi-Fi burning was just sent for sale yesterday afternoon. Today, the Mi 11 is directly on the hot search. It seems that there are indeed many friends who have the same problem.”
It is worth mentioning that the previous exchange policy “ended” with the discontinuation of the Xiaomi 11. According to media reports, since September 15, 2022, Xiaomi 11 series models burn WiFi problems customer complaints will only support the repair of the motherboard service, no longer support the exchange of new machines and refund processing. Some Xiaomi customer service said that as the Xiaomi 11 has been discontinued, there is no way to provide replacement services anymore.
As replacing the motherboard is a repair, this means that the 7-day breakdown return, 15-day exchange and one-year warranty services previously available after a new phone will also no longer be available.
As a high-end flagship phone line, the Digital series is an important pawn for Xiaomi to impact the high-end market. The Xiaomi 11 was released on 28 December 2020, with the standard version priced at RMB 3,999. Since its launch, several users have complained about quality issues with the machine.
On August 6 last year, Xiaomi launched the “Service Policy on Special Problems with Xiaomi 11 Series Products”. Xiaomi said that for the Xiaomi 11 series of products with special WIFI problems, Xiaomi after-sales testing supports the replacement of new machines to deal with.
Despite the ongoing quality issues, Xiaomi 11 standard edition shipments are not small. CenterPoint data shows that domestic shipment figures for Xiaomi 10, Xiaomi 11 and Xiaomi 12 differed relatively significantly within 5 months of release, with Xiaomi 11 shipments being higher than both Xiaomi 10 and Xiaomi 12.
Counterpoint noted that sales of the Xiaomi 12/Xiaomi 12 Pro were down nearly 60% in the first month of launch compared to the first month of the Xiaomi 11/Xiaomi 11 Pro.
