Changan Mazda released the fourth preview image of its new model. According to the previous description of Changan Automobile Chairman Zhu Huarong, Changan Mazda’s internal code-named J90A model is expected to be officially released at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. The fourth preview picture released this time shows the vehicle’s C-pillar and sharp taillight outline. The parallel lines in the light group are quite recognizable. The fastback line of the roof extends to the rear, and the powerful waistline is connected to the taillight group. At the same time, the chrome trim strip on the lower edge of the window extends to the C-pillar, indicating that the car has a slender body proportions and an unobstructed view of its sporty style.
Judging from the previous preview images, the new car is a sedan or has a longer wheelbase. It is estimated that it will be a medium-sized or above sedan. Like other Mazda models, the dynamic beauty can be shown by relying on the body lines. At the same time, you can also see chrome decorative strips on the doors. It adopts a through-type taillight design, which looks more three-dimensional. The LOGO seems to be embedded in the center of the taillight, and there is a duck tail design on the upper part.
According to the China Trademark Network, Mazda has applied for two new trademarks in China, “MAZDA EZ-6” and “MAZDA EZ-60”. The new trademarks may be reserved for new pure electric vehicles jointly developed by Mazda and Changan. According to the plan, Mazda’s two new models, internally codenamed J90A and J90A-REEV, will be built on Changan’s EPA hybrid platform and are compatible with pure electric and extended-range power. Two new vehicles, internally codenamed J90K and J90K-REEV, will be launched in 2025; NEV SUV and NEV CAR are planned for 2026. Therefore, the two trademarks “MAZDA EZ-6” and “MAZDA EZ-60” may mean that Mazda’s new energy products will have a new naming system.
Regarding the cooperation between Changan and Mazda brands, Zhu Huarong, chairman of Changan Automobile, said that the two parties will establish a closer communication mechanism. In addition to the J90A (new model with internal code name) and J90K models, the cooperation project will also create the third and fourth new cars. It is expected to build 3-4 electrified products in the next five years.
