According to Feedback Hub multiple user posts, Windows 11 system can not properly install January update KB5022360, resulting in errors such as 0x800f0831.
One affected user wrote in a post, “My HP laptop cannot install the latest update properly: 2023-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5022303), resulting in a 0x800f0988 error.”
Another user commented, “I have tried to install this update several times over the past week and have gotten the 0x80070005 error. I’ve tried rebooting, logging out, shutting down, clearing the cache, etc., but the error persists.
Worryingly, similar Windows Update issues were reported in December, November, October, September, and even August. In the worst-case scenario, the PC would cycle into a reboot.
