Samsung introduces new Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy Book 3 series

Samsung held a Galaxy Unpacked launch event today, launching a number of new products including the Galaxy S23 series, and Galaxy Book 3 series. This article to briefly introduce these new products.

Galaxy S23 Ultra: The highlight is the 200-megapixel main camera.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is not a big upgrade compared to its predecessor, so for users who already have the Galaxy S22 Ultra, there is not much need to upgrade.

The S23 Ultra starts at $1,199.99 (currently about Rs. 8,112), the same price as last year’s S22 Ultra. The domestic launch event will be held on February 10, and it is not clear what the domestic launch date will be.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra features a new 200-megapixel wide-angle camera, plus two 10-megapixel telephoto cameras, a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera with 3x and 10x optical zoom, and support for up to 100x digital zoom.

Samsung also officially says it has improved Nightography Super Night Shot, which takes sharper photos and videos than its predecessor in low-light conditions, dramatically reduces noise, and uses new image signal processing algorithms to enhance color and detail.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra has a front-facing selfie camera with built-in fast autofocus, which Samsung calls the “Super HDR selfie camera” and can record video at 60 frames per second.

Other features of the Galaxy S23 Ultra include IP68 water resistance, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for the display, an included S Pen, Wi-Fi 6E support, a fingerprint sensor and facial recognition, and more.

Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+, look more like Ultra

The S23 and S23+ are still not as powerful as the flagship devices, but both models also have upgraded chips, cameras and batteries.

Like its predecessor, the S22, the S23 starts at $799 (currently about $5,401), while the S23 Plus starts at $999 (currently about $6,753). The domestic launch event will be held on February 10, and it’s not clear what the exact release date will be.

The main selling point of the Samsung Galaxy S23 is the improved night photography and the upgraded 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It measures 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6mm and features a 6.1-inch straight screen design with a resolution of 2340*1080, a maximum brightness of 1750 nits and support for 48-120Hz adaptive refresh rate.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is available in four colors: Misty Purple, Soft White, Far Black, and Wild Green, in addition to the exclusive colors of Lime Green and Far Mountain Gray in the Samsung Official Store.

Another point worth noting is that the Galaxy S23 comes with a 512GB version on Samsung’s official website in China, but Samsung’s official website in the United States and other websites do not show the 512GB version, and it is unclear whether this is an official mistake or whether there will be a higher capacity version in China.

Galaxy Book 3 Ultra is a high-end creative device

The Galaxy Book3 Ultra is the flagship of Samsung’s new lineup. Aimed at creatives and other business professionals, the notebook features an Intel Core i7 or i9 processor, Nvidia RTX 4050/4070 graphics and a 16-inch 2880 x 1800 120Hz OLED display.

The notebook weighs just 3.9 pounds and is slightly more than half an inch thick. the Galaxy Book3 Ultra starts at $2,399.99 (currently about Rs. 16,224), but we don’t have a release date for the device yet.

Galaxy Book3 Pro and Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360: Get a better display

In addition to the Galaxy Book3 Ultra, Samsung has also announced the Book3 Pro and Book3 Pro 360. The Book3 Pro comes in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, while the Book3 Pro 360 is only 16 inches.

Both notebooks feature 13th Gen Core processors and the same 2880 x 1800 120Hz AMOLED display as the Book3 Ultra.

The Book3 Pro starts at $1,449.99, while the Book3 Pro starts at $1,899.99 (currently about 12,844 CNY). The domestic launch event will be held on February 10, and it is not clear what the exact release date will be.

Samsung did not release the standard Book3 and Book3 360 at the event, and it’s unclear whether it will choose to follow up with a launch or cut the standard model.
