Western Digital said that most of the systems previously shut down have now resumed operations, and the company is actively investigating and restoring related operations while securing the supply of products.

The attackers recently said they stole approximately 10 terabytes of critical data, including a large amount of customer information, and demanded a ransom of at least eight figures or the stolen data would be made public.

Western Digital said it will continue to verify the accuracy of the data released by the hack. The company promises to be the first to fully inform users and customers of any new developments.
