Western Digital 2023 Q3 revenue of $2.8 billion, down 36% year-over-year

Western Digital has announced its fiscal third quarter report for fiscal 2023, reporting revenue of $2.8 billion (currently about RMB 19.376 billion), down 36% year-over-year and down 10% sequentially, but at the high end of the guidance range; GAAP operating loss was $472 million (currently about RMB 3.266 billion) and non-GAAP operating loss was $304 million (currently about RMB 2.104 billion). Western Digital CEO David Goeckeler said, “Over the past several years, our team has been focused on improving business agility and, combined with actions taken since the beginning of the fiscal year to right-size and refocus the business, our HDD and flash memory businesses are strong, achieving non-GAAP gross margins at the higher end of our guidance range.
