Electric vehicle analyst Sawyer Merritt said that Tesla has now opened the FSD free transfer function again. He also called on Tesla to permanently offer free FSD transfers.

He said Tesla is now once again allowing owners of new Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model

According to Tesla’s official website, vehicles delivered before February 3, 2024, second-hand inventory vehicles, commercial vehicles, and leased vehicles are not eligible for free transfer, and vehicles that are total losses are not eligible for FSD transfer.

Tesla’s official website also mentioned that users using the transfer function will transfer FSD from the old car to the new car, and this process is irreversible. If the owner chooses to sell the new car at this time, the FSD feature will also be available to the new owner.

It was previously reported that Elon Musk announced in July last year that Tesla owners could transfer FSD services from old cars to new cars, but it was only a “one-time exemption,” and this event ended at the end of September last year.
