Google Pixel 8a passes Bluetooth SIG certification, may unveil at Google I/O in May

Leaks about the Google Pixel 8a mid-range phone have been circulating on the Internet for a long time. Now, Google Pixel 8a has received Bluetooth SIG certification and comes in four different models: G8HNN, GKV4X, G6GPR, and G576D. The certification information also shows that the machine will support Bluetooth 5.4 connection.

Google Pixel 8a will continue the 6.1-inch screen size and resolution of the previous generation Pixel 7a, and the refresh rate is expected to be increased to 120Hz instead of the previously rumored 90Hz.

The HDR brightness of the new phone’s display will be increased to 1,400 nits, which is in line with the Pixel 8 standard version. At the same time, the screen corner radius of Pixel 8a will reach 128 pixels, which is significantly rounder than Pixel 7a.

In addition, Pixel 8a will also support the same USB Type-C DP Alt mode as the flagship model, which can perform video output through DP connection.

In terms of imaging, Google Pixel 8a will continue to use the camera combination on Pixel 7a, namely Sony IMX787 main camera, Sony IMX712 ultra-wide-angle camera and Sony IMX712 front lens.

Google Pixel 8a will be powered by a downclocked version of the Tensor G3 processor and will use the same IPoP package used by the Pixel 7a. Compared with the FOPLP used in the standard version, the IPoP package can save costs, but will make certain compromises in thickness and heat generation.
